Creeped out drinking kombucha and rosewater tea

My grandma has cancer, yeah, I know, every one's grandma has cancer. She had an operation the other day to take out part of her intestine. Sounds like a lot of fun. I think she still isn't eating. My sis said she's on some drugs that make her loopy. Well, we have to visit today. I have to say I HATE THE HOSPITAL. Even the big advanced, one of the best in the country hospital that I am going to today. The one my son was in NICU when he when he was born almost 5 years ago. Err, they creep me out. I think it is so weird that people are born, have illness, and die in the same building. Yeah, I am one of those freaks who thinks that birth and death should be private occurrences unless there is some illness involved. Yeah, more often in death I suppose. But I am still strongly opposed to going to the hospital on a whim. Doctors do amazing things, don't get me wrong, but this history of advancing medicine has made the establishment a little to arrogant. They are expanding their expertise to include interfering with normal, healthy, competent body processes. Ok, I am still bitter about my first son's birth experience, that led to a helicopter ride and an extended time in the hospital, which in my opinion, only happened because of this aforementioned arrogance, and also the fact that the health care in this country is business oriented. My second birth I opted for a home birth and ohhhh, what is this?? My body can actually give birth on it's own! What? I don't have an inadequate pelvis? Or failure to progress "syndrome"? Actually, I just tend to have longer labors, which is a sentence to c-section in business minded medical facilities. Anyway, I hate hospitals. At least it's a beautiful day and the drive will be nice. Vermont is close to where we are going, and VT always impresses me in the spring.
A side note, only because I am OBSESSED with the stuff, please, try kombucha. I was buying the commercial kind in the store, but it got a little costly as my habit increased, so I started brewing my own at home. The cool thing about it is that you can make it the way you like it. I like mine a little cider-y, and a friend likes hers sweeter. You can flavor it anyway you want and make it fizzy or not, whatever. I love the stuff, and it is so good for you. Please try. I concede that it is an acquired taste, but so long as you aren't pumped up on soda and sugary stuff all the time, it is something you get quite accustomed to. I love it, my family is going crazy cause I have 3 gallons going at a time, and I can't bear to throw away the babies, so we have a colony growing in the fridge. I have this attachment to them...
